As of now, I work as a Scientist in a small Pharma industry in Dortmund. The research primarily focusses hit-to-lead optimization — a process in early stage of developing a pharmaceutical drug. My role in the team is as a computational chemist. I perform computational modelling and structual biology involved in the different projects. The role is immensely diverse, with expertise requirred in biology, medicinal chemistry and computation at the same time. My background in machine learning and programming has helped me bring in many new tools into use for all the chemist in the team.

Doctorate

Before my employment, I finished my doctorate in Germany from the renowned Technical University of Munich as part of the BigChem Project, an Industrial Training Network (ITN) offered by the Marie Curie Foundation. With no prior background in Machine Learning, the learning curve was steep. The program provided me a gateway into industrial research and provided ample opportunities and exposure to the pharmaceutical industry in general.
